2F#5 Gertrude M. "Gertie" Bosley's parents were 2F#10 Cornelius H. Bosley and 2F#11 Charlotte Emma Armentrout. It should be noted that in Charlotte's family line, the surname has variously been found also spelled Ermentrout; Ermintroudt; and Ermentraudt.

Cornelius was born 26 November 1848, probably in Braxton County, third of at least nine siblings. He became a farmer.

Cornelius married Charlotte Emma Armintrout sometime in 1872, probably in February or March of that year.

Charlotte was born on 5 April 1857 to Jonathon and Susan Armentrout, probably in Braxton County. Charlotte had died by the time of the 1900 U.S. census. Charlotte and Cornelius had at least four children:
