The IGI records simply show that on 7 May 1819 Melinda Donoho Shields was born to Daniel Shields and Sarah Donoho, and was recorded in Kanawha District of Braxton County. It is this author's otherwise undocumented opinion that Melinda was a niece of Peter Lawson's mother Elizabeth Shields. This author has no further information on these families.
