2F#9 SARAH ANN BOSLEY
2F#9
Sarah Ann Bosley was 2F#4 Charlie V. Stout's mother. The IGI records her birth as 9 July 1853, dau of Peter L. Bosley and Melinda D. Shields, probably at Cedar Creek, Braxton County, Virginia. We first find Sarah Ann in 1910 listed as the spouse of John W. Knight, age 68, of Braxton County. Also listed are his stepsons Charlie V. Stout, age 23, and Lonnie E. Stout, age 17. We next find Sarah Ann in 1880, listed as a daughter of Peter Bosley. Also listed are Peter's spouse Malinda [sic], son Lindsy, age 20, and daughter Minerva, age 19. Sarah is also found in 1870 and 1860 in the family of Peter and Malinda Bosley.
As of this writing, this author has no documentation of Sarah Ann's relationship to Charlie, other than the U.S. census records. And there is no indication as to who she married who sired Charlie.
[Author's note]: As of the 21 April, 1993 receipt of Lon Earnest Stout's birth certificate from Braxton County, Lon's and Charlie's father was attested by three affidavits of kin and friend as Tom Stout. The mother listed on Lon's birth certificate was Sarah Bosley.
It should also be noted that in her 1910 U.S. census listing with husband John W. Knight, Sarah Ann is recorded as having had four children, three living; one child, presumably a daughter, who also presumably married out of the house before she could be enumerated in that census.
