3F#17 Elizabeth Dean-Corbin's parents were 3F#34 Abner Dean and 3F#35 Susanna Remley.

This author first encountered Abner and Susanna as a result of the search for Elizabeth's burial site -- and her origins. In point of fact, at this writing all this author knows about the Dean family is taken from History of Mercer County, page 1091; from the U.S. census; and from the New Lebanon Cemetery.

Abner was born about 3 December, 1793, apparently in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. He married 1.) Susanna Remley, also apparently from Huntingdon County. They moved to the area of Slippery Rock, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania in 1818, when it was part of Mercer County. A few years before the Civil War they moved to New Lebanon Borough in Mercer County.

After Susanna's death he married 2.) Elizabeth Whitman. Abner and Susanna had ten children. Abner and Elizabeth had two children.

Susanna Remley was born 23 September, 1796. She died 23 May, 1866. Her children by Abner were:
