M#114 CHARLES DIGMAN...M#115 ELIZABETH KELLER
M#57 Margaret "Peggy" Digman's parents were M#114 Charles Digman and M#115 Elizabeth Keller.
On 22 October 1992, a phone call came to this author from brother Ron Bosley, who was a member of a family organization called Clan Ramsey Organization. He had been contacted by a fellow member and cousin named Betty Lou Ramsey from the Ramsey home seat of Belington, Barbour County, West Virginia. She too was researching the Ramseys.
A subsequent meeting of Ron and Cousin Betty served to confirm that our Virginia progenitor was M#224 John Ramsey. Among her research she shared with us was M#56 John Ramsey's wife M#57 Margaret's surname, and information about her family, the Digmans.
Charles Digman was born about 1781 in Frederick County, Maryland. According to Violet Gadd Coonts' book, The Western Waters: Early Settlers of Eastern Barbour County, West Virginia, published by Stephen P. Coonts, an enclosure sent along to this author by cousin Betty Lou, "...while a young man, he [Charles] emigrated to Monongalia County along with his brother Phil Digman..." Charles died on 10 July, 1855 in that part of Barbour County that was Monongalia County.
On 4 November 1806, Charles Digman married Elizabeth Keller, who was born about 1790 and died on 17 June 1857 (see ERRATA). M#115 Elizabeth Keller was the daughter of M#230 and M#232 George and M#231 and M#233 Martha Keller, and was the sister of M#116 Samuel Keller, father of M#58 Samuel Keller, and grandfather of M#29 Nancy Jane Keller.
