It is the greatest misfortune that there is virtually nothing known about these twins, the other two of Gay's male siblings, who were very much a part of this West Virginia family.
The other family treatise gives them one line: "Next were twins, Claude and Clyde Ramsey, born May 26, 1881, but died in their infancy of probable pneumonia."
In all my research through the family history, I've made it a point to try to establish the birth, life and death of a family member. Surely, my great uncles, like my mother's brother, had a final resting place, and a final date of death. Hopefully at the publication of this history, it will be a part of these tragic twins' moment in history. Clyde and Claude were very much a part of the life story of every family that suffers the loss of children to disease and calamity, and I would suspect Grandmother Sarah's grief over the loss of her twins was no less soul wrenching than the loss Gay felt at the loss of her Donna.
